Here are the new images with lighting that allows for dynamic shadows. They're really important:

New Things!
I guess it's been a while, hasn't it? I've been quite busy cutting tiny pieces of paper. In fact, I've essentially fused with the Xacto knife at this point, which is great because now I get to post all of the great new stuff my new-found mutant-hood has generated (not so sure my keyboard enjoys being stabbed though...):
A new white-on-white piece:

And some colorful ones:

That's all for now. The roll of Dura-Lar I bought just arrived, so hopefully that will yield some amazing stencils for my endeavor in acrylic paint that will start on Wednesday. Stay tuned...

14 Hours
As promised, here is the progression of the 14 hours of work in the studio I did on Sunday...
I spent the first 5 hours working on my painting, which I'd started last Wednesday:
Really intense. In a good way.

Briefest of Updates
I'm officially accepted into the ranks of honors candidates! Woo! And after this weekend, I'll have an exciting visual montage to post (we have an assignment to stay working in the studio for 14 hours straight. I'll be taking a picture of my progress every hour, and you'll get to see the results) I also started one of the 8x5 canvases, which you'll probably get to know pretty intimately in the 14 hour progression...Until then, here are some pictures of a drawing I made on Monday:

It's white paper layered with transparent drafting paper. Exciting, no? More soon!

My Books!
The semester is officially over and I'm back in PA again for the holidays. Before I left, I built and gessoed two 8x5' canvases, and there's a third in the works. I've got big plans for them...
But my last big project was to make two books, one from a series of small monoprints from earlier on in the year, and one of larger monoprints with collaged paper cuts. I'm pretty excited about them, so I'll share the results here!
For the small book, I essentially organized the pages in a progression of how the images evolved as I printed them:

The large book is arranged more associatively:
